How laser hair removal treatment works

Many people around the world suffer from the growth of unwanted hair. This condition is known as hirsuitism and can affect people of any age on any part of their body. It can lead to problems with self-esteem that can develop into troublesome psychological issues.

Shaving, waxing and bleaching to give the illusion of hairlessness are all methods people have tried to use to fix their problem. All these methods are temporary and ineffectual. This is not the case with laser hair removal treatment as it is long lasting and painless.

Procedure of laser hair removal treatment

A topical anesthetic is applied to the skin which needs to be treated. After this, the laser beam is directed on the desired region. The laser light passes through the skin and then damages the hair follicles deep inside the skin. By damaging the follicles, future growth is completely stopped.

During the treatment, there may be a slight stinging sensation which will be light and temporary. The whole treatment generally requires 8-10 sessions but it completely depends on the size of the area which needs to be treated. Even the thickness of hair influences the time consumed.

Once the session is over, there will be redness or swelling but it will last only for few hours.
