the Laser Treatment Clinic | Pigmentation

Benign pigmented spots are coloured spots or patches on the skin caused by increased production of melanin, the dark pigment in the skin (sun spots, liver spots, freckles, uneven skin tone. Some lesions are present at birth whilst others develop with exposure to sun or with age.

We offer a combination of these treatments for superior results:

a. Advanced Intense Pulsed Light treatment
b. Microdermabrasion, Laser Therapy and Ultrasound treatments

The Science | (Advanced IPL) treatment

The Advanced Intense Pulsed Light system produces a light that eliminates flaws without damaging the surrounding tissue. A sapphire crystal waveguide conducts the filtered light to the target chromophores in the tissues causing the unwanted skin lesions to heat up and disintegrate/disappear. Discoloration of the skin and hyper-pigmentation can be irradiated.

The Treatment

A cold gel is applied to the area to be treated. After which the sapphire crystal waveguide is gently applied to the skin and pulses of light are applied.
You should feel no more than the sharp snap of a rubber band against the skin. The treatment is extremely fast and an area of the face such as the cheeks may take less than 5 minutes to treat whilst the full face may take just 20 minutes.

After the treatment the lesion will initially look a little darker and start to peel or fade in the next couple of weeks.

Significant results can usually be seen at the end of a course of 6 treatments, leaving an interval of 2 - 3 weeks between treatments.

These treatments are tailored to your needs and are approved by the Laser Protection Supervisor.

The Science | Medical Micro-dermabrasion Laser

The Microdermabrasion, Laser Therapy and Ultrasound treatment involves an advanced form of deep skin exfoliation, encouraging skin renewal, gently and uniformly removing the pigmented superficial layers from the epidermal level without damage, revealing the clearer skin beneath. Epidermis renewal usually occurs within four and five days. The Laser stimulates the production of fresh new skin cells and collagen.

The Treatment

The procedure is performed by passing a hand held device that uses a highly controlled flow of fine, medical grade crystals over the skin. You should feel no more than a sharp scratching sensation. After which the Laser technology is applied.

After the treatment the surface treated may have some spots of blood, and these may scab and take about a week to heal. Inflammation (active redness) is a consequence of fibroblast collagen resulting in more elastic skin. The depth of the pressure applied is at the professional’s discretion and may vary from treatment to treatment. The advantage of this treatment is that above all it works in harmony with, and respects the biological structure of the skin tissue.

Epidermis renewal usually occurs within four and five days depending on the length of the treatment or depth of abrasion, leaving a space of about five to six days between treatments. After each treatment it is best to apply the professionally recommended products, to accelerate the skin tissue repair and lightening of the pigmentation.

With repeated treatments you will notice a steady improvement in skin texture and appearance. Improvement is sometimes evident from the first couple of treatments and continues throughout the treatment program.

These treatments are tailored to your needs and are approved by the Laser Protection Supervisor.
