the Laser Treatment Clinic | Rosacea

Rosacea

Rosacea is a facial skin condition, with the symptoms experienced by the patient including a general redness or blushing. For those who suffer from this on either an intermittent or constant basis, a non-invasive rosacea treatment is now available from The Laser Treatment Clinic which can effectively clear the skin.

Rosacea can begin with a “blush” or redness that, progresses from intermittent to constant. This “blush” or general redness may be followed by distinct or individually recognized larger blood vessels. This is stimulated by stress, heat, alcohol, spicy foods, etc

These stimuli are believed to produce dilation or widening of the blood vessels. An increased amount of blood or blood vessels produces the increased red color. The natural course of Rosacea may include episodes of improvement and worsening. Obviously patients with Rosacea should attempt to avoid any conditions or substances that may cause their condition to flare or worsen.

The Science

Rosacea is treated with the Advanced Intense Pulsed Light treatment, by absorption of the light by the hemoglobin. When the temperature reaches about 60-70C, the blood coagulates, and the inner cells of the blood vessels denature. This causes the vessel to collapse and break down with virtually no visible symptoms. This treatment is suitable for patients who are seeking a non-invasive, minimal risk solution to clear skin.

The Treatment

A cold gel is applied to the area to be treated. After which the sapphire crystal waveguide is gently applied to the skin and pulses of light are applied.
You should feel no more than the sharp snap of a rubber band. The treatment is extremely fast and an area of the face such as the cheeks may take less than 5 minutes to treat whilst the full face may take just 20 minutes.

These treatments are tailored to your needs and are approved by the Laser Protection Supervisor.
