X-Factor participant spends thousands on cosmetic surgery

A desperate X-Factor participant spent thousands of pounds on cosmetic surgery after Simon Cowell criticised her in a previous audition. 23-year-old Katrina Lee had liposuction, dental work, laser surgery on her face and hired a personal coach to lose 2 stone to make her entry into the initial auditions this summer. Five years ago, pop mogul Simon Cowell said to the Belfast-born shop worker that he wished he could put her voice into someone else’s body.

Anxious to make an impact at the Glasgow auditions this year, Katrina Lee also coloured her hair to bright red for the audition. Her performance of Nothing Compares 2 U, by Sinead O’Connor, wowed the critics and so they put her through to the boot camp. She said to The Sun that she had to return and rewrite history on the show. The thing that happened with her last time almost tipped her over the edge which was terrible.

Katrina said that she had come head-to-head with Simon Cowell and said him that his remarks almost ruined her life. Simon replied saying that it was not a nice thing that she said. He appeared truly shocked after knowing how his comments affected her life. Following the auditions at 18, she encountered an eating disorder and said that it crushed her self-assurance with men.
