Do you have a tattoo that you now regret? Many people across the UK have tattoos that do not resonate with them anymore. Luckily there are professional ways to remove tattoos that are safe, effective, and permanent. Here at The Laser Treatment Clinic, we offer laser tattoo removal for our clients who wish to remove tattoos that they no longer want.

Changing your mind is normal and many people regret tattoos that they got when they were younger. Everyone changes their style and personal taste from time to time. If you have a tattoo that you no longer want on your body, we can help. Below are the things you need to know about laser tattoo removal if you’re considering it.

How does laser tattoo removal work?

Laser tattoo removal works by breaking tattoo ink under the skin. Targeting the pigment in the ink, lasers effectively remove the unwanted tattoo. Here at The Laser Treatment Clinic, we use Q-switched Nd: YAG laser to remove both professional and amateur tattoos, ensuring you get the best results.

This type of laser is the best for tattoo removal, as it works well on different coloured pigments and is very effective in removing tattoos. It’s also important to note that some tattoo pigments fade more easily than others, so speeding on the colour of your tattoo it may take more sessions to disappear.

What are the benefits of laser tattoo removal?

There are several benefits to laser tattoo removal that you should be aware of if you’re considering having this treatment. They are:

Minimised damage to surrounding tissue: Laser technology operates on the principle of selective photothermolysis, targeting the tattoo pigment while minimising damage to surrounding skin. This helps reduce scarring and promotes faster healing.

Minimal downtime: Laser tattoo removal typically involves minimal downtime, allowing you to resume your regular day to day activities shortly after the procedure. The recovery process is generally faster compared to other tattoo removal methods.

Improved self-esteem and confidence: Unwanted tattoos may be a source of embarrassment or dissatisfaction for some people. Laser tattoo removal can lead to improved self-esteem and confidence, as it helps to effectively remove the unwanted tattoo from your skin.

If you’re considering laser tattoo removal then our team of professionals at The Laser Treatment Clinic can help. We offer free consultations whereby a member of our team can assess your skin and offer the best advice for you. Contact our team here for more information.

Here at The Laser Treatment Clinic, we are award-winning tattoo removal specialists with over 18 years of industry experience. Our state of the art tattoo removal treatment is highly effective in removing all unwanted artwork, leaving the skin healthy and clear. Our tattoo removal service can help clear away tattoos, semi-permanent make-up and even microblading on the eyebrows.

This article will take you through the laser removal process, and how effective The Laser Treatment Clinics tattoo removal service is.

Laser Tattoo Removal

What sets our tattoo removal service apart from the others, is the fact that we have over 18-year experience in Laser Tattoo Removal in Harley Street. Our specially trained tattoo removal practitioners use the advanced Nd Yag Laser to remove tattoos, which is the gold standard for removal of amateur and professional tattoos and semi-permanent makeup. The energy from this advanced laser breaks down the tattoo ink into tiny fragments, which are then absorbed into the bloodstream and passed safely out of the body. The Nd Yag Laser is a handheld device that the practitioner will use on your skin, you will feel a slight sensation, described like an elastic band snapping at your skin. You may feel slight discomfort, but it is a lot less painful than getting a tattoo in the first place.

Tattoo removal sessions can last between 10-30 minutes, depending on the size of the tattoo and the type of ink used. The number of sessions required to receive desired results can also vary, depending on the size and type of ink used. We offer a free consultation service, where one of our trained practitioners can assess your unwanted tattoo and create a tailored treatment plan to achieve clear skin.

Aftercare

We of course integrate aftercare into the treatment process. Depending on your type of skin, our practitioners will issue you a series of skincare products to use throughout the tattoo removal process. These skincare products help promote healing and new cell growth, leaving the skin healthy and clear.

We have noticed an increase in enquiries for our tattoo removal treatment recently, as it has become more popular to have natural healthy glowing skin. Faded or irrelevant artwork is also unsightly and can become a hindrance. Thankfully, having an unwanted tattoo is a problem which can be safely, painlessly and professionally solved.

While tattoos are arguably more popular than ever, it’s worth noting that fashions change, and perhaps five, 10 or 20 years down the line, a tattoo that once seemed like a great idea could one day be a source of consternation or embarrassment. Almost 50% of all millennials now have a tattoo – and as many as 25% of those say they regret getting one.

For some people, the period before deciding that a tattoo needs removing is even shorter – getting inked while on holiday and realising it was a bad idea, undergoing sub-standard tattoo work by a poor-quality artist, or circumstantial changes (such as breaking up with a partner or changing opinions about a band, celebrity or sports team) can all leave people wanting tattoos removed almost as quickly as they decided to get them done. This also includes semi-permanent make up on the eyebrows.

Laser Tattoo Removal: The Solution

Thankfully, today tattoos don’t have to be permanent. Laser tattoo removal provides people with the option to safely, effectively and easily erase unwanted ink. The procedure itself is quite simple, and leaves the skin completely healthy and clear, with permanent results.

While results can vary depending on the skin type and lifestyle of the individual, the laser tattoo removal system used at the Laser Treatment Clinic is incredibly effective when it comes to erasing all types of body art including semi-permanent make up on the eyebrows.

More Than Tattoos

Nowadays, tattoos aren’t the only form of permanent or semi-permanent form of body ink. Cosmetic procedures such as micro-blading and permanent eye-brow make up can also be removed via a simple laser tattoo removal procedure.

This has given rise to an increasing number of clients wishing to reverse their ink decisions, which in turn has meant that tattoo removal technology has developed considerably over the years to cope with demand.

Cutting-edge Laser Removal Technology: How It Works

The Laser Treatment Clinic uses advanced world-leading Nd: YAG laser treatments in conjunction with marine skincare home care, which is regarded as the gold standard for tattoo removal. The home-care routine should be adhered to during and after the laser removal process for the best possible results.

The lasers work by using high-intensity light beams which break up the pigment colours. All colours can be treated, with black being the easiest to remove.

A New You

Regardless of your reasons for laser tattoo removal, the good news is that a safe and effective service is available to restore your skin and remove unsightly tattoos or semi-permanent eyebrow make-up procedures. For more information on how to regain confidence and improve your look, simply contact the Laser Treatment Clinic for a no-obligation consultation.

If you’re finally making the decision to get that tattoo you’ve had for years now removed and you have a few fears about the procedure, then it’s best to be fully prepared.

Whether you’re unsure about the pain of laser removal or not sure what to do after the procedure then these tips from The Laser Treatment Clinic will ease some of those concerns.

Preparation

The first point to be prepared for is to set your expectations before the procedure, during your consultation it’s best to understand how your skin will look after the treatments. As depending on the tattoos colours, size and location there’ll be varying results.

Along with that remember that the treatment can be uncomfortable for some. Before the tattoo removal treatment, you could apply some ice to the location to slightly numb, based on your past experience with getting a tattoo.

Remember that depending on the tattoo that you will require multiple treatments for the tattoo to fully fade. Speak with the laser consultant administering the treatment about any future appointments.

How It Works

The procedure itself involves a high-intensity light beam that breaks up the pigment colours in the ink in your tattoo. By penetrating the skin, it breaks up the ink particles, making the tattoo fade. The body’s immune system then removes the smaller, broken up particles over time. The laser itself is harmless to the surrounding skin as it only targets the pigmented skin.

If you have a black tattoo then it’s much easier for the beam to get rid of the tattoo as black tattoo pigment absorbs all laser wavelengths. Meaning you’ll need far fewer procedures to see the tattoo fully fade away. Tattoos with other colours will require specifically selected lasers to deal with the pigment.

The size and location of the tattoo are taken into account too, with more treatments needed for a larger tattoo. Lighter skin is more suited to laser tattoo removal treatment. The tattoo will usually clear quicker the lighter the skin tone due to the higher levels that can be administered on this skin tone.

After The Procedure

There are a few common side effects after every tattoo removal treatment that many people may go through. These are completely normal concerns and so there’s no need to worry. Side effects such as swelling, which can spread beyond the lasered area but can be reduced by keeping the affected area raised and resting. Redness and Itchiness can occur but it’s vital that you resist the urge to scratch it however difficult that may be as this can cause scarring. However, you will receive a test patch prior to the treatment to check your skin suitability to the laser treatment,

These are just a few things to expect from tattoo removal. Get in touch today for a FREE consultation and see what The Laser Treatment Clinic can do for you!

This week our, ‘Guide To’ series will be looking at everything you need to know about laser tattoo removal and semi-permanent make-up removal.
A treatment that has become more popular over the past few years, laser tattoo removal treatments safely and painlessly remove unwanted or faded tattoos and semi-permanent make-up removal.

Here is everything you need to know before you consider tattoo removal treatments:

How Does It Work?

We use a laser beam that penetrates into the skin to break up the ink particles and causes the tattoo to fade. After the treatment, the body’s immune system should then remove these pigments over time.

The beauty with the laser treatment is that laser only targets the pigmented skin leaving the un-inked skin virtually unharmed.

What To Expect?

At The Laser Treatment Clinic, we use a cutting edge advanced Nd Yag Laser to treat the tattooed area. Once this treatment is complete we use our range of advanced marine skincare.

The laser treatment leaves you with lasting results, clear and healthy skin as well as removing your tattoo for good. The procedure is virtually painless, professionally done and safely treated.

It can be said that these treatments work better on black coloured tattoos as opposed to multi-coloured body artwork which the laser finds harder to treat.

You should also realise that the location and size of the artwork do matter. Areas of poor circulation can leave poorer results on the skin which is something to consider if you are planning a new tattoo.

Once you have finished the treatment you might see blisters, swelling and redness around the tattooed area but this is a normal part of the treatment process as the skin needs time to heal.

What To Do Now?

Once you have read the blog post, understand what the procedure entails and how it works it is time to book in for your free consultation. This will be where you can ask any questions, voice any queries and meet the people that will be treating you.

You will also be given a patch test to make sure that your skin doesn’t react badly to the laser. Once this is complete you can put a place in place for removing your tattoo over the coming months.

Visit The Laser Treatment Clinic to find out more.

Laser tattoo removal is painless and effective well it can be with the latest technology. Getting tattoos on the skin has always been a popular occurrence with a variety of people. It is usually younger people who get tattoos on their body in their youthful enthusiasm.

Often, when people mature, they want to get rid of their tattoos forever. Tattoos are permanent in nature. Hence tattoo removal has to be done in a medical procedure. Many years ago, plastic surgery was considered to be the best method of tattoo removal. However, these days laser tattoo removal is the best way to get back spotless skin. Laser tattoo removal is painless and effective

Nd Yag Laser tattoo removal is highly effective in getting rid on single or multi coloured tattoos. Laser tattoo removal is almost painless as here the laser beam hits the affected area for just a single moment which is almost one billionth of the second. The result is instant as the laser beam works immediately, neutralising the colour.

After undertaking laser tattoo removal treatment, appearance of slight bleeding might occur. Bleeding and scars are temporary and the skin recovers very quickly. Slight patches or pigmentation along with little swelling can also happen after the laser tattoo removal treatment.

Applying aloe vera gel is very effective in such cases. The affected skin should also be guarded from direct sunlight with the use of competent sunscreen. If these steps are taken, it does not take more than a few days to regain healthy, smooth and clean skin.

Tattoos are exciting and adventurous. We generally etch tattoos that suit our nature and likes. Those rebellious tattoos stand enviable by all. People of all ages are getting tattoos done every day. However, it is seen that many of them wish to get them removed after some time, possibly as their tastes or interests change. Tattoo removal can be best done by utilising a laser tattoo removal procedure. Get rid of your tattoo with laser tattoo removal.

This technique is widely appreciated due to its effectiveness and safety measures. The laser tattoo removal procedure involves using the laser beam on the tattoo, to clear the pigmentation. All the colours can be removed by the laser treatment but it is most efficient to get rid of black pigment.

There are various steps involved in getting the tattoo removed. Before your treatment starts, an effective eye protection will be given to you. After that, the practitioner will treat your skin type and its sensitivity towards the laser beam. The laser emitter will be stationed near your tattoo and will get activated. Once, the laser tattoo removal procedure is over, you can cover it with a bandage to avoid skin damage due to the sun. Sometimes an ice pack may be necessary to sooth the area.

The laser tattoo removal treatment can be expensive or reasonable depending on the size and the type of tattoo to be removed. If you have a smaller tattoo, the cost may be affordable but a larger tattoo can cost you big bucks. Hence, before you wish to take the laser treatment, consult a laser treatment clinic to get the correct estimate and the number of sessions needed.

Laser tattoo removal is becoming a preferred choice for people as it reduces risks, lowers the chances of scars, pain and heals quickly. Consult your dermatologist and have a good scar free tattoo removal procedure.

Embarking on the removal of a tattoo is a lengthy process; and whilst the technology has come on leaps and bounds in the past ten years, there is simply no quick fix to getting rid of a tattoo. Laser Treatment is an effective solution to enable you to safely remove permanent tattoos and semi-permanent makeup of most shapes, sizes and colours.

What to expect from the consultation?

Skin experts at The Laser Treatment Clinic are friendly and sympathetic and will provide helpful detailed information on the laser tattoo removal treatment, or semi-permanent makeup removal treatment).

You will be recommended a course of treatments to your individual requirements, and if you wish to go ahead with the treatment you will be booked in for a skin patch test, which can usually be carried out immediately after your consultation.

What to expect from the treatment?

There are a number of factors that will affect your tattoo removal procedure, it can depend on your skin type, the colours in the tattoos and the depth of it into the skin. Black tattoos tend to clear up faster than multi-coloured tattoos.

It can take between 6 and 12 sessions to achieve optimum results and fully remove a tattoo. In some cases, it may clear up faster but there is no way to know exactly how long it will take.

Nd Yag Laser Treatment

The Laser Treatment Clinic uses cutting edge advance Nd Yag laser treatment, coupled with advanced Marine Skincare, which is the gold standard for the removal of amateur and professional tattoos and semi-permanent makeup.

The process works by delivering laser energy to target the carbon particles or dyes in the skin, allowing selective destruction of the foreign pigment while minimising damage to the surrounding skin.

Tattoo removal is a process that is on the tip of everyone’s tongue. With the tattoo industry has seen an unprecedented boom in the early 2000s – due in part to shops becoming more accessible on the high street and celebrities bringing increased exposure and acceptance – many members of the public rushed out to copy the style of their role models.

How Long Does Tattoo Removal Take

The results obviously varied. Some tattooists pale in comparison to others – some tattooists stick to best practices of health and safety and win awards for their work whereas others simply buy a tattoo kit off the internet and have no care for safety and hygiene so operate from their home. Even regardless of the work, sometimes clients can go off a design they had inked on them that seemed like a good idea a decade ago – whether that’s a girlfriends name, a logo, or a tattoo trend such as tribal.

Needless to say, there is a multitude of reasons as to why people opt for tattoo removal, but the industry is seeing a real boom as people begin to realise that they no longer have to be stuck with a tattoo forever.

Tattoo removal isn’t an overnight process though, and there are many factors that need to be taken into account for accurate and intensive removal of a tattoo. Below we’ll discuss a few of the issues that can see the tattoo removal process take a varying number of sessions.

Skin Type
Because the ink in your tattoo needs to penetrate the dermis layer of skin to become permanent, similarly the laser used in tattoo removal needs to penetrate the same layer of skin.

When you come to the Laser Treatment Clinic for your initial consultation, we will use the Fitzpatrick Scale to assess your suitability for the removal process and how many sessions you will need – this looks at your skin colour, hair colour, eye colour, and tanning habits.

Simply put, the lighter the skin the fewer sessions you will need.

Location
The location of the tattoo on your body is important when factoring in the amount of sessions removal will take. This is due to the varying thickness of skin across the body.
This means that areas with thin skin such as hands, head, and feet will take fewer sessions but areas with thick skin such as thigh, bicep and stomach will take much longer.

Colours
Common colours that are used in tattoos include black, red, blue, yellow and orange, but each of these colours will involve a differing amount of targeted laser sessions.

We use an Nd: YAG laser for our treatments – this uses two wavelengths to work on most colours and has proven to be the best way to remove tattoos. Black, dark blue and red ink respond really well to the removal process, whereas white, yellow, and green ink doesn’t respond well to the frequencies given by the laser.

Size
The size of a tattoo is going to be another factor in how long the removal process will take. The reasons for this are two-fold – a large tattoo can only be removed a section at a time and so will require a larger number of sessions. This is due to the fact that the area will need to be treated again and again before moving onto the next section. So if you’re dissatisfied with your back tattoo, be prepared for a long term removal commitment.

Cover-up
Often, some people no longer feel their tattoo is relevant to them or they find it embarrassing and want a different tattoo in its place.

This will mean the design of the cover-up tattoo is bigger than the original and will require the previous tattoo to be covered up with new and darker ink.

If you want a cover-up of an existing tattoo, your tattooist may ask that you undergo some sessions of laser tattoo removal to lighten up the existing one – three or four sessions are usually adequate and this makes it easier for them to ink the new tattoo on you.

If on the other hand you’ve covered up an existing tattoo but dislike the new tattoo even more than the previous one, then the number of sessions for removal will nearly double.

As you can see, there are a vast number of factors into how long tattoo removal can take. The best way to get a clear picture is for us to see the tattoo itself via our consultation process. We use this time to answer any questions you may have and book you in for the skin Test Patch – this allows us to see how your skin will react to the laser and see if you’re suitable for removal.

Tattoo Regret – What Is Possible With Laser Tattoo Removal We all have our wild younger years. These can take a variety of forms, but for a lot of young adults, it is increasingly the case of getting a tattoo only to regret it in later life. Reasons for getting a tattoo vary across all sections of society – some people get them to mark a special occasion, some people get them for personal reasons, maybe to prove a commitment to their partner and others just get a piece of skin-art because they love a particular design. Similarly, the reasons for getting a tattoo removed are equally varied – some people get them removed because the original piece was done by a mobile or amateur tattooist and the work is shoddy, while others have the need to get them removed for personal or career reasons.

To give a recent example, Victoria Beckham has been in the news lately due to speculation that she is currently undergoing laser tattoo removal to get rid of some of her more revealing and prominent tattoos. According to an article in Heat, a few of the tattoos she got on her wrist in her younger years appear much lighter than before. The reason for her undergoing the process of laser tattoo removal is rumoured to be because of concerns that her tattoos could damage her status and reputation as a businesswoman and impede her growing influence in the fashion and design world.

She’s not the first celebrity to undergo the process of tattoo removal either. In the early 90s, Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder were the original Hollywood ‘it’ couple, with Depp inking ‘Winona Forever’ on his arm in tribute to the actress. Nothing lasts forever though, not their love nor Depp’s tattoo, as he proceeded to get laser treatment to change the phrase to ‘Wino Forever’. They’re not the only unlucky-in-love Hollywood couple to have gone through the process of devotion-tattoos only to regret it years later – during Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton’s tumultuous marriage in the early 2000s, the former wild child actress had Thornton’s name etched on her bicep along with a dragon to mark her devotion. Following their divorce in 2003, she proceeded to have the tattoo removed before replacing the area with coordinates of her six children’s birthplaces.

The thing each of these examples of celebrity tattoo removal has in common is that they solely dealt with tattoos that used black ink, and when it comes to the process of removing ink this is the easiest for the laser to deal with. Using an Nd: YAG laser, the process for removal is relatively simple –over the course of treatment the laser is focussed on the tattoo and pulses of laser energy bombard the ink. This causes it to disintegrate and your immune system then attacks and gets rid of the ink through your waste. Black ink responds best of all to the laser process, followed by dark blue and red ink, whereas ink colours on the opposite side of the spectrum such as white, yellow, and green ink don’t respond to the frequencies the Nd: YAG operates on. Depending on the size, colours, and age of the tattoo it can take any number of sessions to achieve your desired end result, be that fading for a cover-up or removed as much as possible. Despite that, you can notice a dramatic lightening of the tattoo after the first treatment.

Before the treatment can start, you’ll need to have a consultation. This allows us to assess your suitability for the treatment as well as discuss your expectations from the process. From there we will go ahead and carry out a ‘test patch’ on your skin – this involves a quick blast of the laser on each example of ink colour on the tattoo and allows us to see how your skin will respond to treatment. The laser treatment can produce an immediate whitening and raised appearance to the surface of the tattoo but this change usually lasts no more than a few minutes before it disappears. Once the whitening disappears, it is not unusual for the area to swell and appear inflamed. This may last for several hours and can be minimised if the area is treated with an ice pack or cooling pad.

With tattoo removal, it is important to have realistic expectations. The ink won’t miraculously disappear overnight and the process will likely take several sessions, anywhere between six and twelve treatments in some cases depending on the size, quality and colours of the tattoo. Check out some reviews from our satisfied customers for a better idea of what we can offer.

Semi-permanent makeup removal on the eyebrows is yet another type of ‘tattoo’ and therefore also carried out safely and effectively using the same technology.
