Clooney’s ex-girlfriend admits tattoo mistake

It has been previously reported that Elisabetta Canalis, George Clooney’s ex-girlfriend, has an Eminem tattoo on her right bicep, and yet she has always publicly denied it. During a recent appearance on TV show Access Hollywood Live, she was forced to come clean, however, and admit that she did have the tattoo.

She blames getting the tattoo on being young and ‘dumb’ and has since had it covered up with a rose design. This wasn’t enough to stop the original tattoo from being visible, however, as proved by the presenter interviewing her.

While covering an unwanted tattoo may be an option, this example shows that it may not always be the best option. The replacement tattoo will need to be larger and filled in if it is to provide a decent cover-up.

Laser tattoo removal offers another way to remove the results of our mistakes, without damaging the surface of the skin. Tattoo ink is trapped between layers of the skin and remains there permanently as the pigment particles are too large for the body to break down and remove.

The coloured pigments in the tattoo absorb the light from the laser and start to heat up. The heat causes the pigment to fragment into tiny particles that the body is then able to remove. The tattoo fades, and after a course of treatment, you will be safe in the knowledge that your youthful mistakes can be forgotten.
