Pigmentation Treatment

Established in 1999, we have over 22 years experience at our Harley Street clinic so you can feel assured, you are in safe hands.

What is Pigmentation?

Your skin is naturally pigmented, giving it its unique colour based on the genes you’ve inherited, but sometimes you can develop excessive pigmentation in specific areas due to sun exposure or as a result of trauma to the skin. This hyperpigmentation can lead to an uneven skin which often has a negative effect on an individual’s confidence.

Irregular pigmentation presents itself in a number of different ways. Most commonly it will appear as melasma, freckles, sun spots or as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Common Causes of Pigmentation:

• Hormonal issues
• Medication
• Acne spots
• Extended UV exposure
• Ingrown Hairs
• A Reaction to Inflammation
• Psoriasis
• Eczema
• Dermatitis
• Hydroquinone & harsh skin lightening products
