Don’t forget to pack the sun block

For those of you who are lucky enough to be heading off to the slopes this year to indulge in some skiing, there is one thing you should not forget to take with you: sun block!

It may be winter and there may be snow on the ground, but this makes it even more important to protect your skin from the ageing effects of the elements. This is important for all skin types, but particularly for those who have sensitive skin or who suffer from skin conditions like rosacea.

The extreme temperatures and wind you may experience on the slopes can be irritating and harsh on your face, which is likely to be the only exposed part of your body when you are hurtling down the side of a mountain.

The sun too, can have devastating effects on your complexion. The wonderful white, sparkling snow also reflects and intensifies the harmful UV rays in sunlight, accelerating the ageing process and potentially causing burns to the skin.

Skin that is over exposed to the sun’s rays will develop wrinkles and fine lines, age spots, enlarged pored and thread veins, requiring photo rejuvenation treatment to improve their appearance. Take the easy option, therefore, and make sure your bottle of total sun protection goes in your suitcase first!
