Don’t let acne scarring ruin your confidence

Active acne can be a terrible affliction, and can prove tricky to treat effectively. The longer someone has active acne, the more likely they will be to suffer from scarring, which can be equally distressing.

Scars are formed when the skin is damaged, and the inflammation and infection caused by active acne can cause permanent tissue damage and loss. The result is often a scar that is left reddened by the inflammation, with a depressed appearance due to the destruction of skin tissue.

Scarring can take many months to fade away, if it does at all, and can cause almost as many problems as the acne itself. While the redness can be disguised with the use of cosmetics, it is more difficult to hide the ‘ice-pick’ texture of the skin.

There is a solution, however. At The Laser Treatment Clinic, a combination of treatments is used in order to improve the appearance of the skin. Microdermabrasion exfoliates the skin deeply, removing the damaged superficial layers of skin to reveal new and healthy skin tissue beneath.

A laser is then applied in order to stimulate skin renewal as well as the production of collagen, which is essential for the growth of supple, plump skin. The result is a significant improvement in the skin’s appearance, allowing you to finally put your acne behind you.
