Acne is a skin disorder faced by every age group due to various reasons like over exposure to sun, hormonal imbalance, unhealthy lifestyle, etc. Acne appears on the skin due to the blockage of pores in the skin’s surface. It can now be effectively treated with the introduction of laser acne treatment. As most people are not very familiar with laser treatments, here are few frequently asked questions about them:

Does it only treat face acne?

No. Acne laser treatment can be used on almost every type of acne. This acne can be on your back, chest, face or any other part of the body. The additional benefit of this treatment is that it not only works on acne breakouts, but can even treat the scars brought about by the acne.

Does this treatment harm my skin?

Laser works on the lower surface layer i.e. the dermis section of the skin. Hence it does not leave any signs of treatment on the upper layers of the skin. It is a myth that laser beams damages the skin and results in dry and unhealthy skin. The advancements in laser technology see to it that any area of your skin other than the affected part should not be exposed to the effects of the laser.

How long does the treatment take?

The laser acne treatment requires up to 45 minutes to treat pimples on the face, body and chest, while it does not take more than 20 minutes for only a facial treatment. The time span may vary depending upon the intensity of acne.

How many sessions are required?

The sessions of treatment also depend on the intensity of acne. Normal acne might require three to five sessions to treat it completely while intense acne cases might need eight to ten sessions.
