Has hair removal gone too far?

It would seem that hair removal has reached a point where it cannot get any more extreme, for women at least. At a time where women are removing more hair than ever before, it would seem that the latest fashion involves the removal of hair from top to toe (excluding head hair, eyebrows and eyelashes only) – using wax…

It sounds like a highly unpleasant experience – and should be known as extreme waxing rather than the more glamorous-sounding ‘Showgirl’ wax! I imagine, too, that this is one to avoid if you are prone to ingrowing hairs… At just under £200, this kind of treatment is obviously aimed at those who have disposable income, as we all know that the results of waxing last approximately four weeks.

Laser hair removal London seems to be a much better investment, as, like the waxing, it can be used practically anywhere on the body and results in permanent hair removal. Waxing slows regrowth as it pulls the hair from the root, and repeated waxing can eventually damage the follicle to the point where hair regrowth is prevented. And yet, the laser does this first time!

Apparently we spend over £25 million per year on DIY hair removal kits, and probably even more on salon treatments. When you put it into perspective and think of the total cost over the course of your lifetime, laser treatment suddenly seems a much more cost-effective option…
