How does laser tattoo removal work?

Nowadays, tattoos are a common part of the culture and are seen adorning the bodies of men and women of all ages.

Tattoos are created with the help of electric tattoo machines which have needles in them, and these needles move up and down to colour the skin.

However, although tattoos are becoming more and more popular, so is tattoo removal surgery.

Laser tattoo removal procedure

During this treatment, the lasers focus on the tattoo ink, which is then broken into fragments- these lasers are highly concentrated. The whole procedure often requires a number of sessions. This is one of the safest methods of tattoo removal, as it doesn’t require any incision.

The steps involved in laser tattoo removal

• Firstly, your eyes will be covered with eye shields and then the laser will be tested on the skin.
• Next, a handpiece is placed on the surface of the skin and the laser is activated. Many people say that this feels similar to a rubber band snapping against the skin.
• Larger tattoos require more pulses whereas smaller designs require less. Complete removal of tattoos requires multiple sessions, although the tattoos get progressively lighter.
• Immediately after the treatment, ice or another cooling solution is applied onto the area.

The number of sessions which you require for the tattoo removal will determine the cost of the procedure.
