Laser hair removal – a useful guide

Laser hair removal helps to get rid of excessive and unwanted hair from your body via the use of a laser. The procedure should only be performed by a qualified specialist.

Laser hair removal London – how it works

An optical device produces a beam of laser light. The energy in the laser heats the pigment in the hair follicle and disables it. The hair follicle then loses its ability to re-grow new hair. The laser does not affect the surrounding skin.

How many sessions will this take?

Several sessions are likely to be required for removing all of the excess hair, although a considerable amount of hair will be removed in the first 6 to 8 sessions. In some cases, a few maintenance sessions may be required after the procedure has been completed. Each session is split by an interval of 4 to 8 weeks.

Getting ready for laser hair removal

You should inform your hair removal specialist if you are on any medication. Don’t attempt to wax your hair for a minimum of three to four weeks before the sessions begin. This is important as the lasers need to be able to properly target your hair during the treatment.
