Laser treatment gives you freedom from acne

Acne is an inflammatory skin condition that affects the face, chest, neck and upper back. Acne is caused by an interaction between bacteria, hormones and sebum produced by the sebaceous glands in the skin.

Acne symptoms:

Pimples, cysts and pustules (lesions filled with pus) are the common symptoms of acne. Acne can develop in men and women during puberty and it can stay for life if not treated at the right time. The contraceptive pill can also lead to the development of acne. This is possibly due to the change in hormone levels.

Causes:

There is not one factor that causes acne. Stress, hot or humid weather, oily creams, bacteria in the pores, dead skin cells, birth control pills, irritation and scratching and hormonal activity may cause acne. Blocked pores, blackheads, pimples, scars and small superficial sebaceous cysts usually mark the presence of acne.

Treatment for acne

Treatment for acne entirely depends on the severity. Mild cases can be cured by washing the face with a gentle soap or Benzoyl Peroxide. When the skin is scarred due to acne, laser therapy can be used.

Laser treatment for acne

The acne patient lies down and the laser pulse is pointed towards the affected skin area. The laser gently starts to extract the impurities from the skin and brings them to the surface. The laser therapy removes blackheads, whiteheads, sebum and dirt. The laser pulses also destroy bacteria and dead skin cells. They also restrict the sebaceous glands from producing excessive sebum. No skin pre-treatment or anaesthetic creams are needed for this treatment. And all skin types can be treated with laser therapy.
