Painless removal of tattoos using laser technology

Posted on 17 Feb, 2011

The beauty of a tattoo depends on the skill of the tattoo artist, quality of inks used and the response of your skin to the tattoo. If any of these factors does not meet expectations, the tattoo may look like a permanent mistake. Tattoos are representations of your personality, inner desires and attitudes. If they go wrong, you will begin to feel out of alignment with your identity. Bad tattoos can be embarrassing too. If you are someone who is living with an unwanted tattoo and wants a clean, effective way to wipe it off, laser technology is the answer for you.

Why not use conventional methods?

Tattoo removal by plastic surgery can leave an ugly and discoloured patch of skin. The scar always has a different look to your own skin tone. In the past, there was a method known as ‘excision’ which would invariably result in scars and painful boils. Tattoo removal by lasers is however painless and trouble-free.

How does laser tattoo removal work?

The ink of the tattoo is subjected to a safely monitored laser that causes the pigment of the ink to break down and dissolve. It is a safe method, without any chance of infection or damage to skin cells. Also, the laser method does not leave any scars. An anaesthetic cream may be applied onto the tattoo region before the procedure is carried out. The time taken for the tattoo to be removed depends on the size of the tattoo and the body part which is undergoing the process.
