Repair your skin this winter

Posted on 25 Oct, 2011

If you did not take enough care of your skin this summer, your face and body may already be displaying the signs of another season of sun damage.

The sun can cause the skin to age significantly, and bring about the formation of various signs of ageing:

• Wrinkles
• ‘sun’, ‘liver’ or ‘age’ spots
Thread veins
• Enlarged pores

These may be superficial signs of ageing, and yet they can have a significant effect on your overall appearance.

Of course, prevention is always better than cure, so if your skin has suffered this summer, make a pledge to yourself to start to take better care of it. The winter presents different challenges for your skin, so make sure you use the appropriate skincare products that will protect your skin and help it to heal.

Sun damaged skin treatment can also help by reducing the appearance of any existing sun damage and stimulating the skin’s natural healing process to encourage the growth of healthy new skin.

Two treatments are available, depending on the signs present on the skin, and the kind of treatment preferred. Intense Pulsed Light treatment is non-invasive, while microdermabrasion uses fine crystals to gently remove the damaged superficial layers of skin.
