Why do you regret getting your tattoo?

There are many reasons for getting a tattoo, although there are just as many for then getting rid of it! If you have an unwanted tattoo, you may be considering laser tattoo removal. But what is your reason for wanting to erase that ink?

• It reminds you of a broken relationship. Loads of people decide to honour their other half with a tattoo of their name/face etc. Unfortunately, if that relationship doesn’t last, you are likely to find yourself stuck with a declaration of love for someone who is no longer part of your life. The tattoo could cause friction with a new partner, or simply remind you of an unhappy break-up or a relationship you now regret.

• You may change your mind about the tattoo if it starts to give you serious problems. Maybe the design didn’t work out the way you hoped, the tattoo artist made a mistake, or you have developed an allergic reaction or infection that has cured you of the desire to have a tattoo in the first place.

• You could be disappointed by the reactions people have to your tattoo. It is hard to be proud of inking that inspires ridicule, disappointment, embarrassment or disdain in those around you. You could also find that people you don’t know are basing their judgements of you on your tattoo, which could have consequences for your social and professional life. If this is the case, it could be time to investigate laser tattoo removal.
