Why skin ages too quickly

Posted on 10 Dec, 2011

As we grow older, our skin starts to show the signs: wrinkles and fine lines, enlarged pores, pigmentation, rosacea, freckles, thread veins and age spots. Unfortunately, certain habits can accelerate this ageing process.

1. Sun exposure. The sun can leave the skin looking uneven in tone, with patches of pigmentation. It can also lead to the appearance of wrinkles and lines, with skin acquiring a leathery appearance.

2. Cigarette smoke. Smoking or being exposed to cigarette smoke is terribly damaging for skin. It depletes levels of vitamin C, and skin is left dry and prone to wrinkles.

3. Alcohol. Alcohol increases the flow of blood to the skin, and result in the appearance of thread veins. It can also leave skin dehydrated and prone to lines.

4. Lack of sleep. Getting enough good quality sleep is essential for the process of skin renewal, and a chronic lack of sleep will result in a loss in elasticity and the appearance of black circles under the eyes.

5. Lack of exercise. Exercise is absolutely necessary for your general health, and has a positive impact on your appearance and the state of your skin in general.

Sun damaged skin treatment can help to reduce the signs of ageing, making you look younger!
